An eerie quiet invades you senses as you walk under a canopy of trees that lets the light shine through shadows. The silence is broken only by the sound of a rushing stream, cascading down through ancients boulders to from a pool at the base of a rocky cliff. On the opposite shore, huge boulders abound in no particular pattern, almost as though a michievous giant child was throwing them down the hillside. There you will see carvings on the rock made hundreds of years ago by primitive people, recording events in their lives as they descended upon the area in their migration along the Pacific coast to various parts of México City. This is a holy place to the Huichol Indians, a place where they, the healers of the ancient Aztec nation, come to celebrate their oneness with nature. Our guides will tell you all there is to know about this fascinating place, miles from civilitation. This is a whole day event, you should wear your walking shoes, and your camera is a must.
